TERMS OF
SERVICE.

Effective July 6, 2026. Plain-language summary of each section is in bold; the text below it is what actually governs.

1. Who these terms are between

You and the person or team operating Verinio. Verinio is operated as a brand, not through a named legal entity disclosed in this document. Contact for any purpose related to these Terms is [email protected]. By creating an account or using the Verinio API or website ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms.

2. What the Service is

An API and web tool for fetching media, extracting transcripts, and processing file metadata. Verinio provides three tools - Fetch, Transcript, and Metadata - accessible via the website and via API with a Bearer API key, billed in credits as described in Pricing. Verinio does not guarantee that any specific source URL, video, or file will be supported, and support for a given source may change or stop at any time as third-party sites change.

3. Accounts and API keys

Keep your API key secret; you're responsible for what happens with it. An account is created automatically the first time you buy a credit pack. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API key, and for all activity that occurs using them. Notify us at [email protected] if you believe your API key has been compromised; you can also regenerate it yourself at any time from the dashboard, which immediately disables the old key.

4. Credits and payment

Credits are bought in packs through Stripe, never expire, and are not refundable.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Verinio to break the law, abuse the service, or infringe on others' rights. You agree not to use the Service to: violate any applicable law; infringe someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; circumvent rate limits or credit charges; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts or data; or send content through the Service that you don't have the right to process (for example, downloading or processing media you don't have rights to use). You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to fetch, transcribe, or process any content you submit to the Service.

6. Files and content you submit

We don't keep your files or downloaded media after we process them. When you upload a file for metadata inspection, sanitizing, or compression, or request a download or transcript, the underlying file/media content is processed and then deleted immediately afterward - Verinio does not retain a copy. Separately, for your own account history and billing, we do retain a record of each request (the source URL, requested format, file size, and credits charged) - see the Privacy Policy for details. You retain all rights to any content you submit; you're responsible for it.

7. Service provided "as is"

No warranty. Use it at your own risk. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Verinio does not guarantee continued support for any specific media source, and third-party sources may change or become unavailable without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

Our liability to you is capped at what you've paid us recently. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verinio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Verinio's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid for credits in the 3 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (including certain consumer-protection laws in the EU/EEA, UK, and elsewhere).

9. Suspension and termination

We can suspend accounts that violate these Terms; you can stop using the Service anytime. Verinio may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Suspension or termination does not entitle you to a refund of previously purchased credits, except as described in Section 4.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; continued use means you accept the update. Verinio may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

Generic, not tied to a specific country. These Terms are governed by generally applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that nothing here overrides any non-waivable consumer-protection right you have under the law of your own country or state of residence. Note: because Verinio does not disclose a named operating legal entity or registered address in this document, full compliance with operator-identification requirements in some jurisdictions (for example, Germany's Impressum requirement) is not guaranteed - this is a known and intentional limitation, not an oversight.
